RELAX dude!
Not everyone get one for free! It's only in US!
I can only get a discount on the old model! And no discount at all for the new.
Glad someone else said this!
I'm confused though. I was told on the phone the old nano would cost me 155. Take off the 100 rebate and it would cost me 55. Went and bought my 24" iMac online and took the iPod offer and it cost 129. So i am hoping the rebate is still 100 and it will only end up costing me 29 :D

THis is one of the most ridiculous posts I have read on this thread. Sorry. So you want Apple to go around the world creating contracts with all mobile operators in the world, so you can use 3G FOR FREE???!! Which isn't even available everywhere??!!.
Is that not what they are practically doing with the uh....urm...i dunno...iPHONE? Plus, the original poster only mentioned AT&T, they didnt talk about it going international.

We need to get developers to use open standards and flash is not!
Besides flash being a processor hog (bad code especially on the Mac) it is bad for search engines, it is bad for web standards, it is bad for design.
At one time it was the only way to get rich media and non-refresh dynamic content on the web. Now there are much better lower overhead, open, web standards based ways of doing this. Flash should go away!
Apple taking a stand against flash is good. All the internet needs now is a open standard video codec!
What we all need to do is educate / demand that web developers / sited eliminate flash and use open standards.
Personally I do not use sites that require flash for operability - one of my favorite hotel chains "upgraded" their site to a flash based reservation system - it looks great but is slow and un-reliable, - so I stopped staying there and emailed them telling them they lost a customer due to their bad flash based reservation system!
I disagree that people don't care about flash players. Plenty of sites out there use flash extensively and do not offer a non-flash version. Adding adobe flash capability to the iphone would make it that much better in my opinion. Just because apple doesn't want it, doesn't mean it's not useful. I for one believe that apple "sometimes" listens to it's users, and if enough people complain, apple will react. Think apps for the iphone (remember apple's stand, it's an ipod, not a computer), cut/paste and push service. Background apps seem to be the next barrier to be broken, why not flash?
As far as adobe and MS "holding back" web progression, the whole point of flash is that it is a tool that makes highly interactive media sites easier to accomplish.

The days of $300 Windows PC's are over. People have more expectations for their PC purchases than just email and word documents. People are opting to buy better PCs but less frequently.
Apple now is an option for people who have abandoned the crappy cheap computers and the iOS devices make Apple PCs even more attractive. Especially with Dual Boot options.
I've noticed more Linux users on campus opting for Apple PCs too. The people prefer Linux but like the ability to boot into Mac OS and get the benefits of that.

Not seeing any battery drain here yet. 2.5 hours since I updated and the iPhone 4 is still advertising 100% battery. Granted I haven't used it much. :P

Is it just me, or does the new iTunes logo look horrible in the dock? It doesnt seem to match anything, and it just doesnt look as "clean" as the typical dock logos have been/should be. When i went to click iTunes for the first time and it changed from the nice/clean green logo to this blue cheesy looking 1995 icon, I was pretty surprised!
it doesn't look right to me. The icon seems HUGE, it seems like the used every single pixel available to them while other icons were allowed to breathe.
Check it..

3 gig option (tho i'll just hold on to the store's default 2 for the 15")
I'd imagine the MacBook would be upgradable to 3gb now also (if not through Apple via a third party).

Ack, when I have my iPod connected, my load times take FOREVER on my MacBook. It takes at least two minutes to simply bring up the UI.
I'm finding it interesting that the OS X version is lacking a feature that the PC version has. It's no doubt for troubleshooting, but weird. It's called "Run Diagnostics..." and presents the attached window.
I guess it's so Apple's iTMS support doesn't have to know Windows to get relevant information. :)

Well, I just did it, I used green strip putty (I can't remember the name), looks like this only a pine-green
I mounted it to the back of the desk, worked really well, just take 2 very small (half inch or so) peices and stick it on. It cleans up pretty easily off plastic, just don't try putting it on dry wall or plaster. (Hence, why I put it on the back of the desk, it wont come off very well, but who looks at the back of the desk?)
Alright. I'll go look for that or something similar at Wal-Mart or Target.
Thanks for the tips PowerGamerX

I love how everybody is like "I've got the CDs who cares" or "Buy the CDs they are cheaper". The Beatles on iTunes isn't for you. It is for people who don't buy CDs, it's for the future when the majority of people get digital music and it's certainly for a whole generation of kids who won't know what a CD is or care, in the same way that vinyl is now seen as archaic.
I'm sure I am repeating someone else's thoughts, but it doesn't seem clear to a lot of people.
I would love nothing more than to have a one stop shop in itunes for my music, but the fact of the matter is that buying the CD set is #1 cheaper, #2 not copyright protected so if I want to lend a cd to someone else i can. I can't lend someone my itunes catalog unless I dish out my user account info.#3 Better audio quality. Going all digital download would make sense if it were significantly cheaper but on iTunes it isn't.
iTunes just doesn't give enough value nowadays for what they offer. They force you to make backups instead of being able to go on your account and download everything you bought if you need to again. (That is increased cost on my side, because I have to buy more hardware to do it and need to not only store it but store it again as backup.) Think about the fact that you bought that music from them but don't have the right to download it more than once. They are not dealing with manufacturing, production and transportation costs of physical media and shipping yet they charge FULL price and rarely offer a bargain on anything. They are horsef**king everyone. I do realize they might pay for licensing rights although that may be mitigated to some extent by giving the artist 70% of sales while apple retains 30%.
Amazon does this right with physical media and digital content. It's cheaper.
Apple is way too greedy when it comes to digital content. Their cost is paltry to store it somewhere and let people download it.
They just rake massive profit margins on digital content without passing their cost savings on to the consumers. Most of the time you can go out and buy a blu-ray cheaper than their HD downloads. That is not right. They are raping the fools who purchase that content. As long as people keep buying, they will not change their strategy and everyone will continue to pay full retail price for things that should cost half.

No way. Going from awesome screen viewable at any viewing angle to crappy 3d screen viewable only when perfectly parallel? Nope.
Unless they have some awesome new glasses free tech that no one else n
Knows about I can't see this happening.

It's appropriate that Toys'r'Us would carry the iPad 2, an overpriced toy.
While the iPad certainly can be a great toy, anyone who believes that a powerful, intuitive, easy to use tablet computer is only a toy is a complete idiot.

Now that Apple has consolidated the portable line on Intel C2D processors, the line between the pro and consumer models are diminished. Perhaps Apple should combine the two lines into one with 4 models across the line, employing an updated MB enclosure.

once ipad is launched, millions will buy or check it out online. At the same time, if apple has updated the pros and airs, consumers may also choose to purchase them online.
Apple wants to attract new customers all the time, it will be disappointing to see the line of mac products along with their price if nothing is updated before the ipad launch.
makes perfect sense to update before ipad, that's what I think
Agreed. You'll get all the foot traffic in stores as well.

Ouch.
400 smackers for Ultimate?
My wallet hurts.
With few added bucks and student's discount, you can buy a Mini with Leopard and iLife preinstalled in that amount, or iPod Video, or Xbox 360, or ..............I love my Mac ;)

Did the Apple engineers forget to add a music video icon on the left side of iTunes 7? Everthing else is there except music video.
That's what I'm wondering. I have tons of music videos and now there is no listing of them for me to look through.
