Marg Helgenberger: 50 and Fabulous
Marg Helgenberger is 50 years old. Marg Helgenberger was born in Nebraska. Marg Helgenberger is of Irish and German descent. Marg Helgenberger is the daughter of a nurse and meat inspector. Marg Helgenberger has a B.S. degree in Speech and Drama from Northwestern University. Marg Helgenberger's first job was being a nightly local news weather girl in her hometown Nebraska. Marg Helgenberger is an accomplished television and film actress. Marg Helgenberger is so expletive deleted hot!
She has steadily built up quite an admirable career for herself since making her television debut in 1982 in one of her most noted role as amateur cop Siobhan Ryan Novak in ABC's hit daytime soap opera, Ryan's Hope. This role pretty much set the tone for Helgenberger's career since many of her ensuing roles, television and otherwise, have been that of a law enforcement officer.
Along with her plentiful detective/police roles, over the years she has appeared in several horror/thriller films as well. Her career is littered with very diverse roles too. Her body of work includes romance, comedy, fantasy and suspense to name a few.
In 1989 she made her film debut playing the leading role of Alex in Wheat brothers’ horror anthology After Midnight. Her role as KC Koloski in China Beach (1988-1991) earned the actress an Emmy win (Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series). But her biggest break and most noted role to date is playing the character of Catherine Willows, a crime-scene investigator supervisor and forensic scientist in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. This role has earned her two Emmy Award nominations, two Golden Globe nominations and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.
Since being discovered by a talent scout at the age of 23 while she playing the role of Kate in the NU campus productions of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew, she has amassed a body of work that includes several appearances and/or recurring roles in such popular television series as Matlock, ER, Shell Game, The Hidden Room, Fallen Angels and Thirtysomething. As well as being cast in movies alongside some of Hollywood's leading men and women. Her movies include Species and Species II, Fire Below (Steven Segal), Erin Brockovich (Julia Roberts), When Love Kills the Seduction (Gary Cole), Bad Boys (Will Smith & Martin Lawrence), In Good Company (Scarlett Johansson & Dennis Quaid) and Mr. Brooks (Kevin Costner, Demi Moore, Dane Cook and William Hurt).
She has also won two People's Choice Awards: Favorite Female TV Star – CSI and The cast of Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series – CSI in 2005 and three Viewers For Quality Television Awards: Best Supporting Actress in a Quality Drama Series – China Beach (1998), Best Supporting Actress in a Quality Drama Series – China Beach (1990) and Best Supporting Actress in a Quality Drama Series – China Beach (1991).
In 2008 she was the female lead alongside Val Kilmer in Charles Burmeister's crime-drama-thriller Columbus Day which has had DVD releases in Germany, Italy and Iceland. A USA release date has not yet been disclosed. She voiced the character in the animated movie Wonder Woman which was released yesterday. She will again lend her voice to animated character Princess Tascela in Conan: Red Nails set for release in December of this year.
Marg has made and continues to make her rounds on the sexy, beautiful, influential and other hottie lists of note. She is ardently and avidly involved in the fight against breast cancer; especially after the mother battled with the disease for some 27 years.
My favorite quote from this amazing specimen of a woman is this "Life will always be good as long as Madonna is around. I don't think of her as a guilty pleasure anymore - she's an outright pleasure". Marg Helgenberger when you say things like this I just gotta love you; I can't help it. Will someone pass me the remote please? I just want to sit and watch Marg Helgenberger work her magic and put her spell on me as she does it. Hey, while you're at it, please pour me a glass of pinot noir.
